Defendable and credible estimates have long been the key to funding programs appropriately and getting them off to the right start. While effective program management is instrumental in meeting mission goals and keeping programs funded. Yet, as more software-intensive programs are being delivered through Agile and DevOps methods, the tasks of estimating complex software and keeping programs on track grows more challenging.
This FREE hands-on workshop is designed to help IT budgeting community, estimators, and program management:
- Learn about software metric and sizing commercial best practices and standards
- Account for funding activities in the current climate of decreasing budgets.
- Understand how software size (SLOC to Function Points) and software metrics improve estimation.
- Apply software metrics throughout the program lifecycle to improve program management and planning tools and processes
- Enhance program knowledge through the capture and reuse of actual program performance
- Create transparency to improve client/vendor partnerships and program performance, budget and schedule.
Trainers
Bill has had global responsibilities over the full range of IT including solution development, solution offerings and leading global teams. He has spent a career working with C-level executives on business case development, services strategy, program and vendor management, business process re-engineering, outsourcing engagements and implementation approaches. Prior to CAST, Bill was an independent consultant with Strategy On The Web and former VP of Application Management Services for IBM, bringing decades of experience in application development, maintenance and integrated operations. Bill has professional experience with multiple industry verticals such as Ciber, IBM, PwC, CSC, DuPont in operations, new business development and executive leadership.
Tony Timbol brings more than 36 years of experience in supporting corporate software development and software product manufacturing in both commercial and government markets. Mr. Timbol's role at Premios helps clients define their IT problem domain, identify high-value solutions and develop an ROI model to drive transformative change.
Prior to joining Premios, he was Vice President of E-business Solutions at Technology Point International in Jacksonville, Florida, where he led the Management Consulting and Application Development lines of business. Mr. Timbol is also a PM Central Instructor at the University of North Florida Continuing Education department teaching Project Management and Agile. He is a Certified Scrum Master, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Program Consultant 4.0 (SPC4) and an IT-CMF Tier 2 Certified Associate.
