Global Financial Bank closes critical AI gaps in .NET-to-Java rebuild

“CAST produced detailed, actionable output across both discovery and code generation – from mapping the full application to structured documentation ready to use as a migration backlog.”

Senior Technology Leader

CAST Imaging gives AI the architectural grounding it needs to deliver a deterministic, production-ready .NET-to-Java rebuild – closing the security and structural gaps that AI alone cannot see.

Challenge

A global financial services firm needed to rebuild a 56,000-line .NET transaction platform in Java. The team used AI alone – all 15 business functions and 13 REST endpoints were present and working.

CAST Imaging then surfaced what the AI could not see: every endpoint lacked authentication, connection pooling was missing, and thread-safety violations existed that no functional test would catch – making production deployment impossible.

Solution

The firm added CAST Imaging as a grounding layer for AI-powered code generation. CAST Imaging mapped the full application – objects, dependencies, call paths – and fed that context to the AI via CAST Imaging's MCP server.

Spring Security was applied across all 13 endpoints, connection pooling configured, and thread-safety issues resolved before any code shipped. The rebuilt application was validated against the original throughout.

Results

The firm delivered a production-ready Java Spring Boot rebuild in one day – with zero rework. Test coverage improved 2.7×, achieving full CI/CD readiness. All 10 critical security and resilience gaps identified in the AI-only output were eliminated before deployment.

The client had a deterministic, auditable architecture rather than an approximation – and a repeatable process they could apply to other applications in the portfolio.
